End of Business

Hey everyone! I'm not sure if anyone even reads this, haha, but just in case, I wanted to let y'all know how much we appreciate the support of every single one of you! We are going to be having to shut down the business soon; it is not going as well as we would have hoped due to the economy and what not, but we’ve had a great year! We owe a big thanks to those businesses that allowed us to sell our flowers in their stores at no extra cost and were a major help to us! Thank you so much to the Wishing Well and Bare Essential’s Café in Houma! We have no regrets of starting this business and have been able to raise over $200 and help over 9 different precious children on their way to be adopted from wonderful families here in the US. It is such a wonderful, rewarding feeling to know that every little bit we do helps! Reece’s Rainbow says it best when they say “Once our eyes are opened, we can't pretend we don't know what to do. GOD, who weighs our hearts and knows our souls, knows what we know, and holds us responsible to act.” The end of this business is not the end of our support; we will forever support and be advocates for Reece’s Rainbow Adoption Ministry! A special thanks to our little inspiration Miss Ella Jane and her wonderful mother Mrs. Kelly, who without them, we would never have been able to experience this wonderful journey! Love you both! <3<?

Hey everyone! We know it's been a long time since we've last updated. The business has been progressing and we have been able to send donations to Reece's Rainbow. We would like to thank the local shop owners who have been helping us to display and sell our products in their stores without charge. We have been making progress through this and it is helping to get word out. We appreciate all who have helped us to get the word out and are continuing to help us advertise. Thanks to everyone and we hope you all have a fantastic new year! :)

The Buddywalk :)

On Saturday morning, Jade, Tay K and I roadtripped to Laffy for the Buddy Walk. The weather was beautiful and it was a great day filled with great friends all to support such an awesome cause. The day started off with an opening speech and the national anthem sung by the children with Down syndrome. They did such a beautiful job! After that, everyone stretched to work out music and got ready for the walk :) It was so awesome to see all of the people that came to support their family and friends. The love was overflowing. Everyone walked the walk proudly waving their Buddy Walk flags. We were so very excited to be there and be a part of Miss Ella Jane's Glee Club! The children were adorable, some dressed in their Halloween costumes. They had games, food and music, and it was evident everyone had a great time! We hope next year will be even bigger and better! Pictures will be coming soon! Hope your weekend was filled with great friends and lots of smiles :)

Hi everyone, I know we haven't updated in a while, things have been busy. We have been open for 3 1/2 weeks now and word is starting to get out! We already have a pretty good amount of money for donations to send Reece's Rainbow for this month :) We have decided that every month we will pick a child from the Reece's Rainbow site to donate the money too. We would love to hear any suggestions you might have concerning who to pick for that month :) We will be going to the Buddywalk this weekend in Lafayette to support our favorite little girl with Down syndrome, Miss Ella Jane! We are so excited to wear our "Ella Jane's glee club" shirts. It will be a fun day! Thanks to everyone who is helping us spread the word, we appreciate the help and support! We will be uploading pictures from the Buddywalk this weekend!

The other night, we worked on making flowers for 5 hours straight. We have about 100 flowers made so far, which is about half of what we need to have before we tell people about the website. We are thankful to all of the people that have been giving us support and helping us to think of new great ideas. These are a few pictures of us working on making the flowers. Enjoy :)

Yesterday, we made lots of progress making hair flowers. We have about 60 flowers made so far, and will keep making them in hopes to start selling them soon! The ones we are making now look more like something that would attract a younger age group, but we hope to learn to make some more sophisticated ones for those who are older too. Today, we had a photo shoot with little Miss Ella and we got some great pictures of her. You can see more in our photo's section of our website. She looked adorable and we got some great shots that capture her great personality. We will be getting together this week again to make more flowers and work on the website. So there will be more, coming soon! :)

Today we are getting the group together to work all day on making and in some cases learning to make the flower hair accessories. It is very tedious and we have a lot of work ahead of us, but we must always remember to look at the big picture. The big picture makes all the difference, knowing that we are helping support a great cause. Hopefully, we will reach our goal today to make at least 50 flowers. We also hope to get everything with the online store figured out soon, so that we can start selling online. Tomorrow we will be going take pictures of the beautiful baby girl, wearing our handmade flowers, who inspired this whole idea. Thanks to everyone who is helping to promote our website already and for all of the encouragement and support. We really appreciate it!

Work in Progress

We've been beginning to start making a few flower designs which isn't as hard as I thought it would be. Some of them are pretty great. The hard part is to find a bulk amount of the same fabrics or ribbons in order to make a few of the same product. We are going to see how this site works out, because our original site on webs.com wouldn't allow us to display more than 5 products at a time without buying a monthly subscription to their site. Right now we are trying to figure out the details of the website and figure out how to sell the hairpieces and try to run everything as smoothly as we can. We hope to get together soon to make plenty flowers so that as soon as our buyers order them, we can ship them asap. Progress is slow, but it will get there. We hope to have the website up and running by the end of the summer.
